The goal of the REACT (Renewable Energy for self-sustAinable island CommuniTies) project is to demonstrate the potential of large-scale deployment of RES and storage assets on geographical islands to bring economic benefits, contribute to the decarbonisation of local energy systems, reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and improve air quality.
To do so, REACT delivered a scalable and adaptable cloud-based ICT platform for RES and storage enabled infrastructures, supporting a holistic cooperative energy management strategy at the community level. SINERGY partners (IMP, AIT and NUIG) contributed different services (energy production and consumption modelling, multi-carrier supply optimization and optimal energy dispatching) as well as were involved in testing the services at REACT pilot sites , please check La Graciosa, Canary Islands (SPAIN); San Pietro, Sardinia (ITALY); Inis Mór, Aran Islands (IRELAND).
During the REACT meeting in Greece, AIT and IMP presented the SINERGY project and promoted the fortcomming events, including the SINERGY Conference to be hosted by IMP in September 2023.
